Dan Morgenroth has taught math, Spanish, English, social studies and other subjects to elementary, middle school, high school and adult students.   He is a certified math teacher, and has taught middle school and high school math since 2002.  Along with Jonas and Caroline, he has led four student trips to New Orleans to do disaster-relief work.  He has a Master’s in Math Leadership from Bank Street College.

Jonas Shantz has taught middle school and high school math since 2001.  He is a certified math teacher, holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Columbia College, and has five years of professional experience as a carpenter.   Every year for the last seven years, he has led student trips throughout the country to do construction work and/or disaster relief with Habitat for Humanity, including four trips to New Orleans with Dan and Caroline.   He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Math Leadership from Bank Street.

Caroline Suh has taught middle school and high school humanities courses in New York City since 2000.  She currently teaches at Lyons Community School.  She is a certified English teacher, with a Master’s in English Education from Teacher’s College.  Before beginning her teaching career in New York, she spent a year teaching in Compton, California, and two years teaching English in various west African countries with the Peace Corps. Along with Jonas and Dan, she has led four student trips to New Orleans to do disaster-relief work.

Sarah Bruner has taught biology to students of all ages in New York City.  She has led classes at the American Museum of Natural History, and at dozens of New York City public schools through the I Fish NY program.  She also has many years of experience in design, carpentry and exhibit installation.  She began working with Dan, Caroline and Jonas to craft the founding vision of Urban Workshop in 2006, and continued as an instructor during the crucial first two years of the program.
Josh Landsberg is a graduate of the Institute for Collaborative Education.  As a student, and then as an alumnus, he participated in four trips to New Orleans with Dan, Jonas and Caroline.  Later, he used his many years of experience as a contractor, construction worker, and diesel truck mechanic to provide consulting expertise and instructional support to Urban Workshop.  He is currently pursuing a double degree in Engineering and Construction Management at NYC College of Technology.
