The challenge: ReBuilders Source salvages lumber of all types and sizes, from full sheets of plywood to scrap lengths of two-by-four. They needed a way to organize and display all these different kinds of wood.
The solution: We built three distinct lumber racks, each suited for different shapes and sizes of wood. Students began by building small scale models using balsa wood and hot glue guns. After presenting the models to the worker-members at Rebuilders and making adjustments to the designs, they went on to build the full-scale racks.
