With a grant from the Van Alen Institute Fellowship for Public Architecture, architects Amanda Schachter and Alex Levi created the Bronx River Crossing project. They paired several high school groups, including Urban Workshop, with groups of college students, and together all the students built a model of the Bronx River Watershed -- using found objects from the watershed area. Later, the model was mounted on a raft and towed down the Bronx River by a fleet of canoes. bronx river crossing home projects the program about us donate click here for more photos
